Our Most Popular Home Drinking Water Filtration Systems
Having clean drinking water is an important part of everyday life. In order to make sure that you have clean water constantly available in your home, adding a water filter system is important. We offer a wide range of amazing home drinking water filtration systems so you can find the perfect system for your home. Adding one of our filtration systems to your home is the best way to gain a little extra peace of mind whenever your take a drink
Water quality is something that most of us take for granted. When you have cloudy water that has a foul smell or taste, it is obvious that something is wrong. Even if you don’t notice any of these obvious indicators or poor water quality, you might still have water quality issues that require filtration. Many harmful contaminants, including heavy metals such as lead, will not affect the appearance or taste of your drinking water, but can be reduced with proper filtration.
When it comes to home drinking water filtration, homeowners have a lot of options to choose from. Sadly, the most common filtration options tend to be the least efficient. Filtered water pitchers and other gravity fed countertop water filters not only offer subpar water quality, but they also use filter cartridges with a low capacity. On average, a filtered water pitcher’s cartridge will filter 40 gallons of water, requiring at least monthly replacement cartridges.
After years of working in the world of drinking water filtration, we have learned to trust Everpure water filtration systems. Our Everpure water filtration systems offer the perfect balance of excellent filtration and ease of use. Instead of having to deal with complicated filter media systems or requiring regular maintenance like some drinking water filters, these systems require almost no maintenance and provide homeowners with access to crisp, filtered water 24/7.
Everpure’s residential water filtration systems are designed to mount under your sink so you can get all of the benefits of having an efficient filtration system without needing to change the appearance of your kitchen. They provide amazing clean drinking water quality that is always available on demand. This water is delivered using a small dedicated filtered water faucet that can be installed on your sink or countertop. For homeowners who do not want to change the look and feel of their kitchen sink area, we also offer filtration systems that dispense their filtered water using the cold water side of your existing faucet.
The secret to the success of Everpure water filters is their extremely efficient filter cartridges. These metal cartridges are specially lined to ensure that your drinking water does not come in direct contact with the metal cartridge. Every cartridge also contains a bacteriostatic component that prevents bacteria from multiplying within the cartridge over its lifespan. To provide the actual water filtration, each of these cartridges are packed with Everpure’s proprietary Micro-Pure filter media.
This carbon based filter media provides incredible filtered water quality because of its high carbon content. Activated carbon is a filtration miracle material that has a huge surface area. This is the result of activated carbon’s microporosity. This material might look like a fine black powder, but under a microscope you would see that every granule is covered in tiny hills, valleys, and pores. This gives carbon filter media the ability to trap tiny contaminants like a sponge. Just a small handful of powdered activated carbon powder can have the same surface area as several city blocks. That means that every Everpure cartridge, despite their compact sizes, actually has a massive amount of internal surface area to clean up your water.
Because Everpure systems are fed by your home water line, they also benefit from operating under pressure. Unlike a gravity fed water filter pitcher, the media in an Everpure system can be packed tightly to ensure superior water filtration. Most of our Everpure systems have been rated to remove contaminants as small as 0.5 microns in size. This is significantly smaller than anything humans can see with the naked eye. To give an idea of just how small that is, imagine the width of a human hair and divide it by 100.
This powerful filtration helps ensure that harmful contaminants such as heavy metals, dirt, and biological cysts can be efficiently removed or reduced to safer levels. These filters are also fine enough to capture harmful biological cysts like Cryptosporidium and Giardia Lamblia that can cause diseases like beaver fever. Despite their powerful filtration capabilities, these home filtration systems will not remove the essential minerals found in your drinking water.
If you are considering an Everpure home drinking water filtration system, we have a few models we can recommend after several decades of working in the filtration industry. Below we will briefly cover out six most popular home filtration models.
Everpure H300
The H300 is our most popular home drinking water filtration system. As the name suggests, these filters use cartridges with a 300 gallon capacity. Designed to fit easily under most home sinks, these compact filtration systems are designed to remove particles as small as 1/50000th of an inch in size from your water. These systems have a flow rate of 0.5 gallons per minute and will require the installation of a dedicated faucet for dispensing your water.
Everpure H104
If you are looking for a system with a larger capacity, then the H104 is the perfect solution. These filters have a 1000 gallon capacity and offer the same powerful filtration as the H300. Even with the larger capacity of the H104, we recommend changing your cartridge annually even if the flow rate from your system is still strong. All of our Everpure cartridges come with a convenient timer strip that will slowly turn from white to solid red in one year’s time to remind you when you will need a replacement. Like the H300, this system will require the addition of a small dedicated faucet to your sink area.
Everpure EF-1500
Now let’s say you are not looking to add a new fixture to your kitchen but you still want a system with an impressive capacity. Then the EF-1500 is a great option for your home. These filters can produce 1500 gallons of water per cartridge and deliver that water using the cold water side of your existing faucet. The installation process is simple and can be completed with only a few simple hand tools, no plumber necessary unless you prefer the convenience of having a plumber or handyman complete the installation for you.
The EF-1500 uses a carbon block filter for maximum surface area. These filters are also a great option for limiting the effects of scale build up in household appliances such as kettles or coffee makers. They are also rated to help significantly reduce chlorine levels so you will not have to deal with the off putting taste and odor that comes with over-chlorination.
Everpure H300 NXT
I know what you’re thinking, didn’t we already mention the H300 system? We did, but the H300 NXT is an upgraded version of the H300 system designed with the effects of pharmaceuticals and other emerging contaminants in mind.
If you are a little confused about this terminology, the long and the short of it is that the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) is one of the organizations tasks with determining the effectiveness of various products relating to food, water and sanitation. Recently the NSF has created new certification standards to address the effectiveness of water filters at removing newly recognized waterborne contaminants such as BPA and pharmaceutical compounds. While the full effects of all of these compounds may not be known, they have been detected in drinking water in several parts of the country. As a result, the H300 NXT was created as an upgraded version of the original H300 system that has been certified by the NSF to reduce the presence of these emerging contaminants.
Everpure PBS400
The PBS400 is another powerful full flow water filtration system. These filters are able to filter an impressive 3000 gallons of water per cartridge. Like the EF-1500 system mentioned above, the drinking water from these systems is delivered via the cold water side of your existing faucet. With a 2.2 gallon per minute flow rate, you should not notice a significant difference between the flow of the filtered water and the unfiltered hot water side of your faucet.
Everpure H1200
Unlike all of the other systems we have listed so far, the Everpure H1200 uses two filter cartridges. These filters can produce up to 1000 gallons of crisp, clean drinking water per cartridge set. These cartridges can also remove volatile organic compounds like MTBE, a gasoline additive that can find its way into waterways. Like all of our Everpure systems, the H1200 is NSF certified and requires minimal maintenance.
All of these home drinking water filtration systems offer incredible water filtration at a fraction of the cost of alternatives such as purchasing bottled water. For the sake of example, let’s look at the H300 system, as it has the lowest cartridge lifespan of all of the models discussed above.
So an H300 cartridge will, on average, produce 300 gallons of filtered water before needing to be replaced. Your average bottle of water is about 16.9 fluid ounces or half a liter. 300 gallons is a little over 1100 liters, meaning that just one cartridge can produce as much clean water as 2200 water bottles. When you buy in bulk, a full pallet of water(78 cases of 24 bottles) can cost nearly $1000 and only contains 1872 bottles of water. That is only about 250 gallons of water if you’re counting.
To contrast this, one of our H300 filter replacement cartridges costs only $65 dollars. If you break that price down for its full 300 gallon lifespan, that’s a little over a tenth of a cent for every 16.9 ounces of filtered water. In addition to that savings, there is also the reduction in plastic waste to consider.
Water bottles are made from single use plastic and they often end up in landfills. If you wanted to pack the empty water bottles from 300 gallons of water as efficiently as possible, you’re looking at over 85 cubic feet of plastic bottles. To give some relatable perspective, that is enough empty water bottles to fill a minivan! Just one cartridge can keep all of those water bottles out of a landfill. All you have to do is fill up a reusable bottle before you leave the house and you won’t have to overpay for clean water or worry about the environmental impact of using all of those single use plastic bottles.
Not only are these systems efficient and cost effective, but they are so easy to install and use. All you need to do is mount the filter head under your sink, thread the adapter onto your cold water line, cut and secure a few small hoses, and screw the filter cartridge in place. Depending on the system you are installing, you might also need to add a small faucet to your kitchen. Once this is done, you should only have to dedicate a minute or two per year to changing your filter cartridges. With Everpure, high quality filtration is an incredibly quick and easy process.
